তারিকুল ইসলাম চৌধুরী সম্প্রতি সাউথ বাংলা এগ্রিকালচার অ্যান্ড কমার্স (এসবিএসি) ব্যাংকে উপব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক (ডিএমডি) হিসেবে নিয়োগ পেয়েছেন। এর আগে তিনি রাষ্ট্রীয় মালিকানাধীন সোনালী ব্যাংকের ডিএমডি ছিলেন। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে বি. কম (অনার্স) ও এম. কম (অ্যাকাউন্টিং) ডিগ্রিধারী তারিকুল ইসলাম চৌধুরী ১৯৮৪ সালে ফিন্যান্সিয়াল এনালিস্ট পদে সোনালী ব্যাংকে যোগদান করেন। দীর্ঘ ৩৩ বছরের ব্যাংকিং ক্যারিয়ারে তিনি প্রধান কার্যালয়ে হেড অব ক্রেডিট, হেড অব এইচআর, বিভাগীয় প্রধান, মহাব্যবস্থাপক, আঞ্চলিক প্রধান, শাখা ব্যবস্থাপকসহ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদে স্বচ্ছতা ও নিষ্ঠার সঙ্গে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। ১৯৮৮ সালে তিনি ইনস্টিটিউট অব ব্যাংকার্স বাংলাদেশের (আইবিবি) ডিএআইবিবি ডিপ্লোমাধারী হন। তিনি বিআইবিএমসহ দেশের খ্যাতনামা প্রতিষ্ঠানের পাশাপাশি অস্ট্রিয়া, দুবাই ও মালয়েশিয়ায় অর্থনীতি ও ব্যাংকিং বিষয়ক বিভিন্ন সেমিনার ও প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মশালায় অংশ নেন। তারিকুল ইসলাম চৌধুরী ১৯৫৮ সালে ফেনী জেলার মাছিমপুর গ্রামের এক সম্ভ্রান্ত মুসলিম পরিবারে জন্ম নেন।
Tariqul Islam Chowdhury makes DMD of SBAC Bank
South Bangla Agriculture and Commerce (SBAC) Bank Limited has recently appointed Tariqul Islam Chowdhury as Deputy Managing Director (DMD). Prior to the appointment, he was also DMD of State-owned Commercial Bank, Sonali Bank Ltd. Tariqul Islam Chowdhury started his career with Sonali Bank as a Financial Analyst in 1984. Mr. Islam has more than three decades of banking experience in diversified fields including exposure as Branch Manager, Regional Manager, Divisional Manager, Head of HR and Head of Credit in Sonali Bank. He obtained B. Com (Honours) and M. Com (Accounting) degree from the University of Dhaka. He has attended numerous professional training, workshops and seminars at home and abroad. Tariqul Islam Chowdhury was born in an aristocrat Muslim family of Masimpur village of Feni in 1958.
